Sometimes things go wrong. Bags disappear, flights get cancelled, your passport expired 10 years ago and you only realise when you arrive at the airport - hey, it happens.

Tenerife is a safe and pleasant place so there is nothing to worry about, but we highly recommend that you get travel insurance.

Make sure your Policy covers you for:

Travel insurance

+ Personal liability

+ Legal expenses

+ Adventure activities i.e. Skydiving!

+ Luggage loss or theft

+ Medical expenses

+ Missed flights

+ Loss or theft of valuables

Additionally, don't forget to check the excess on your insurance Policy - this is the amount of money that you will have to pay if you make a claim.

There are many providers of travel insurance and prices vary a great deal so it is always worth getting a quote from more than one company.

You can get a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which gives you free medical care while you are abroad.You can get an application form from your local Post Office, or by calling 0845 606 2030. You can also arrange this by visiting www.dh.gov.uk/travellers. You should allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.
