Reviews
The
team at Playaway have spoken to many people who have been living their dream
in Tenerife. We asked a few of the gang to write us a quick review on Tenerife
and their thoughts about living and working abroad. Here's what they say...
Frank:
Real name Adam Buckley. I came out to Tenerife
without any of my friends expecting to stay here for a month. I have now been
here for three and a half months and don't have any plans to return to the UK.
I love it here and have the best job working for N2Go (laughing gas) and laughing
my tits off every night! It makes such a change from my normal routine in the
UK.
I was a drugs councillor in a Prison (Frank!) and decided
to get away for the summer. All I can say is try it, I'm 24 and I've had the
best summer working out here. The best move I ever made!
Kat:
I came over here in October 2006 to lap dance at
Stringfellas. I have now been over here a year and manage a lap dancing bar
called Horizon down Veronicas and I love it. I'm here all winter and I'm enjoying
every minute. I am 20 years old and I was a lap dancer in England. I wanted
a change as I was sick of the cold weather. I love the sun and Tenerife is the
place because it's all year round.
Kevin:
Being a University student I had six weeks of summer
to relax and clear my head before another demanding year as a student. When
I heard I could go to Tenerife for a month I jumped at the chance. I went with
my mate Mike and we had an excellent time. A month was to little really but
we knew we had to put our serious heads back on and face the music.
Now
age 20, I've returned to Uni and I'm cracking on with my course, but watch out
Tenerife - Kev and Mike will be back!
Scott:
Been here in Tenerife for about seven months now and yes, I'm loving it! I was
desperate to live and work abroad and tried out a Reps job with Freestyle a
few years back. After the training I realised that all that hard work wasn't
really me so I came to Tenerife on my own to look for work without the high
demand of being a holiday Rep. I got a job as an OPC working for a holiday company.
Becky:
I can't believe I moved to Tenerife nearly five years ago. I am now 24 and I
came over on so many holidays I decided that this was the place to be. I saved
all my money and finished my last year at sixth form before packing my things
and jumping on a plane. I worked in a bar for a few months and then got myself
a job in an estate agents.
Emily:
I'm the one on the left. Coming out to Tenerife
was a great thing to do. I came over on my own, no friends - how proud was I!!
I'd never done anything like this before and I'm still so happy over here. I
have made loads of friends and party every night. I packed in my job at Phones4u
and left rainy Wales to sell shots in the sun to happy holidaymakers.
Dan:
I came to Tenerife in 2005 and only planned on
taking a working holiday for one month. Now 21, I am still here and enjoying
my new life to the full. I tried a few jobs out at first before finding the
one which I do now. I spend my day on the beach working on the water sports,
and I spend most of my nights partying in the bars and clubs of Las Americas.
And they call this work!
Ezzy
22 and Paul 26: We've come to Tenerife for a year
and have been here for six months of the year we planned for. It was my idea
(Ezzy) to come to Tenerife as I wanted to get away from the UK and the pressures
of being a legal secretary. Paul has a years career break from the Royal Mail
so we will have to go home eventually. We love it here and have spent the last
few months chilling and travelling around the island.
I'm now 21, work in the sun, and pick my own hours and spend the day talking
to tourists. Oh yeah, I earn good money too! Who needs to be a Rep?!!
Tenerife
soon became my permanent home and I'm looking at buying my first place here.
I can't see myself in the UK now as I love the life here far to much. I'm chilled
out and enjoying every minute of it!
Now
22, I'm making loads of money, having fun and recovering from my hangovers by
the pool or on the beach. What can be better than that?
We
must have seen every village and town yet it amazes me how different they all
are from each other. We work in a bar together, have made loads of friends and
it's going to be so hard to go home.
